the movie isnt playing with consistency

whenever i watch any movie on my computer the movie goes forward or to the next chapter automatically..
i have to go back again and again to watch the missed scenes
this is happening with all the players. windows media, jet audio, am player, and dvd boy

i started having this kind of problem recently, on the contrary i have never ever faced this kind of problem in the past even though i have seen many movies on my pc in past without having the problem of this sort.

could anyone please explain me how i can get rid of this matter?

let me explain the problem furthur

the movie works fine in the beginning for about 3 and 4 minutes. all of a sudden every player misses the movie of half of a minute or 20 seconds and goes forward. i have to rewind the movie. it works then fine. but same problem occurs after some time in the other scenes of the movies.

any problem with my window? codecs? softwares? resolutions? monitor or graphic options? any virus in my pc?

please guide me.

Have you tried VLC Media Player? It uses it's own codecs, so if it works, that may indicate you have a codec problem.
