I have a computer that had a dvd drive that died. I replaced it with a samsung dvd/cdrw combo drive and it will not play my dvd. I pulled an old 12x dvd player from another computer to see if it was the drive. That won't play in this machine as well

    My computer is:

    P4 2ghz
    512 mb Ram
    80 gb Hard drive
    All in wonder Radeon
    Samsung sm352 combo drive
I'm using the ATI DVD player ver 7.6

It comes up and gives me the following error...

Playback failed because of one of the following reasons.
    1) Audio device in use or not installed
    2) Display overlay is not available
    3) not enough memory

it does this both with the samsung combo drive and the Delta 12xdvd drive that i have.

  2. Did you tell your bios that you changed your writers? It might think the old one is still in your machine.
