DVD Player won't pause Thumb Drive movie

The DVD player I have can play DivX files from a USB Thumbdrive. When I want to pause the movie it completely stops the movie and I have to begin watching it from the beginning, can I fix this so the movie pauses ?

Might be nice if you told what model your player was as someone might know if there's a firmware update for this, but I really don't care at all if you provide enough details to get help or not. I can't believe that after 2 years of being here and over 40 posts that it was not glaringly obvious to you that the fewer details you provide the less likely you are to get help.

That model is 7-8 years old. I can't believe it even has a spot for USB drives. I never saw that in players that long ago. You'll have to try to find some kind of firmware update on your own. I think they only sold it in Canada so that certainly limits your options. I took a look and I can't find firmware sources for it.

By the way, I know from info I found that your player does certainly have a USB connector and I'm not doubting you. I'm just shocked as I never saw that in players back then.

What do I look for in terms of Firmware update ? All I want to do is have the option of hitting the pause button on the DVD remote and it pauses. Pause when playing a video file off the USB Drive, stops the video completely.
