I recently used Movie Mill and Windows Movie Maker to transfer some home videos to DVD. Thanks to all of you! I also have a vhs tape of my daughter when she was on tv and I was trying to transfer this to DVD as well. I can do it and it will work on my computer, but when I sent a copy of it to my sister, (the same dvd) her dvd can't read it. I had her send it back to me and I tried it on my laptop (not the one that I made it on) and I get an error message saying that Windows can't read the disk. It can however read the disks with the home video. Any suggestions?

Hello,
What format was it -r or +r? If you have a dual FORMAT drive go ahead and switch types. Also, try different brands.

No.

Some commercial VHS movies have copyright protection (macrovision). Not something yourself off TV. -
All Macrovosion does on videotapes is discolor the picture and the brightness will fade and then appear when you copy it.
