I have an avi with a corresponding .srt file but my DVD player, although it plays .avi fine, does not recognise the subtitle file.
I would like to hardcode the subtitles, whilst keeping the .avi format.
I haven't worked out a way of doing this yet - I don't want to encode to SVCD because I always get major A/V sync problems whilst using ffmpeg X (but not with MPEG2 works).
Obviously, the audio can passthrough, but the video would need encoding - could you suggest a suitable codec?
Movie info: DIVX 528x288 12bpp 25 fps 681.4kbps audio 48000
Thanks for any ideas.
