    Hello everyone!
My problem is that I have been given from a friend a ripped DVD so I have a folder with the .VOB, Backup, and .IFO files....so far so good! The VOB files are in German language, and when I play it with single players I have no English subtitles...on the other hand when i play it with VLC if I choose and choose Subtitle- > Subtitle Track - > Track 1 then the English subtitles are working!
What I want to do is to hardcode these English subtitles to an .avi file! I know how to convert .VOB to .AVI using Movavi Suite 5 or 7 but I do not know after the conversion how to hardcode the English subtitles to the output file!
P.S. I know how to hardcode subtitles when i have .srt files by makind them .ssa etc....but the problem here is that only when I choose Subtitle Track in VLC (ONLY) I manage to watch the German Video with subtitles!
It must be a way to find where the subtitles are coming from...do I have to burn the files to DVD or whatsoever!?
    Thank you in advance!!!

  2. Open the IFO for the movie in AutoGK, choose the sub language, and let it make the AVI for you. Unless you have the DivX codec installed (not included), you'll be making an XviD AVI.

I did it and at subtitles tracks shows only Deutch... How come since I can see it in VLC with English as mentioned above? I have all the divx codecs!!!

  4. Good question. I don't really know the answer. Sometimes subs are mislabeled. When you play the DVD are German subs available? Or maybe they're closed captions which you'll have to extract and convert to SRT yourself before you can use AutoGK to hardcode them.

Forgot to say that ccextractor creates the .srt file however when I play the .vob file with the EXACTLY the same name the English subtitles are not displayed...I don't get it!

  8. You can't get it to work? But you created an SRT file?

When you open the SRT, does it look like other SRT files? Maybe RAR it up and upload it here so someone can have a look at it.

  10. Oh, then maybe there aren't any closed captions after all. Have you tried to get the English subs from the VOBs using SubRip? If VLC can play them they must be in there somewhere.

My next suggestion after that is to try and find some subs for the film online. The first sticky at the top of the Subtitle Forum lists some places where you can check.

  12. Strange, then I wonder why AutoGK couldn't 'see' them. To get SRT subs into AutoGK for hardsubbing, if you don't know how already, follow Baldrick's guide here:
