First of, I will like to admit, in this moment of truth, that I am what most of you techno-savvy dudes would regard as, a "noob" (although I'm not completely useless). I use my PC to play games, download stuff, surf the net, can tag my mp3s, etc. Basically, the basic stuff. However I really get stumped when it comes down to conversion of video formats and stuff. Especially with "HARD CODING" subtitles. I use subtitles through VLC but that's temporary. I want hardcode my downloaded subs onto my foreign film avi(s). People recommend VirtualDub, AutoGK and talk about "mux" and stuff, and I really really dont get that stuff. Is there a simple software (preferably Freeware, but any license would do) which would take one simple avi and a simple srt file and combine the two to generate a new hardcoded avi?

Please, help a brother out here.
