  1. Soooo, I wanted to try out this program to see if its good or not.

I ran through the whole thing. When Ghost reboots in PC Dos mode, it says there is no disk in the DVD Drive that I am using (there is a disk in there).

I went to Norton's site and checked the compatibility list. It says it supports the LG-GSA-4020 and I have the GSA4040B. So, obviously my burner isnt on the list.

My question is, can anyone offer any suggestions to get around this?

    Let me know.

    Thanks in advance.

    LG

  2. Change media. I've found Ghost likes DVD-RW best. I've never had it refuse DVD-RW. Mine doesn't recognize Maxell or TDK 'R' disks (don't know why) but does seem to like the Singapore-made Verbatim 'R'. Haven't checked any others as these are the ones I trust and use for everything else. Also, it might help to get all the updates before you start.

Once you get this fixed, you'll like the program, it has been a lifesaver for me on several occassions.
If it works, don't fix it.

You can save the image to another partition or HDD, then burn it to a DVD with Nero. That's what I do and I make my DVD bootable, so that I can boot right into Ghost.

  5. You ever ask a question and then when you get the answer, it smacks you right in the head? This is one of those times. My apologies everyone. I completely forgot about just imaging it to the hard disk and then burning it after. I feel like a dolt now.

However, I do have another question now. I have Rogers Cable internet (3 meg). The service runs great when my firewall is off. When I turn it on, the speed drops to about 1 meg service. I tried Norton Internet Security before and had problems with it (was conflicting with someone on the computer). I tired Zone Alarm and had problems with it (frequent signal dropping). I now have Kerio and it runs great other than slowing down the connection. As soon as I turn it off, the speed jumps right back up. What gives?

  9. Maybe a filled out computer profile (in detail) will
give people an idea where to start. You could lack cpu resources,
have a TSR problem, Tunneling problem, cable login client problem (for all we know you could be suffering from a cable heartbeat or DHCP request delay)

Those that bother to provide details often quickly attract those
who are bothered to look at your problem and reply. Just a thought.

    @racer-x

I like the idea of a bootable image. How can I do this for my image cd's ?
(ie, if I make an image of my current setup, HOW-TO can I turn this image
into a bootable CD, so that when I feel the need to pop in this image disk,
    I can do so w/out first booting into a 3 1/2" diskette first - - thanks)
Yes, I've ben searching for a way for a while (when time allows) but never
quite figured it out. Any help on this bootable CD would be great

    Thanks all,

If you have Nero, it's easy. Make a Data CD - select bootable CD. It will ask for a boot flopy to copy the boot files from. Insert your 3 1/2 Boot floppy and go. I have an Autoexec.bat file in there that launches Ghost right after boot-up. You also need to enable boot-up w/CD-ROM in your BIOS.
