  1. Hi! i got AMD 400 MHZ processor and 320 mb RAM, I checked the specification of Plextor writers and minimum requirement is Pentium3 700Mhz. Is there any DVD writer that will work on 400 mhz system? or is it that if i buy a DVD writer it will work but slower? Can anyone pls guide me, frankly speaking i dont have funds to upgrade my processor so if writer is not possibility i will go for bigger harddisk.

    Thanks

    Hello,
I have a 4x dvd burner on a AMD 850mhz and it works just fine. I imagine it will work. If you search the net at places like www.computing.net and www.slashdot.com you may find forums for people running slow computers. I hope someone can give you a definitive answer.

I have a spare 200 mhz PC, 512 mb ram 20 gig HD that I installed a Pioneer 105 in just to see what would happen. And it burns OK at 2x only. PC has Windows XP Home. No Antivirus or Network on the machine at all.

  4. If you throw a burner in it make sure it is a internal burner... I would think an exernal one, even on a new Fwire card or USB2 card, would be more apt to fail.
