  1. I have a Sony DRU500A DVD Writer. I have been problems to get to X4 as it only does X2 Speed. Most of the time I use Recordnow 4.6 version.

I decided to give Nero 6.0 a try. It never burns movie files to the disc. It starts, finishes in a matter of seconds saying 100% complete. It does nothing with the disc. I have tried different media. Currently using TDK X4. Why do I have this problem? Am I suppose to do something with VIDEO_TS folder files first? Is it a hardware problem?

    I am confused.

I am sure a lot of people out there would have the same problems.

I read it on Nero's website that

Sometimes DVD Authoring programs create non-complaint video projects.
(Important Note: Nero cant burn illegally ripped DVDs. Usually they losing compliance through ripping.)
How do you make it DVD compliant? Can you run a check to ensure that this problem does not happen?

    Thanks.

it sounds as if it isn't even burning any files

it takes more than a few seconds just to burn the lead in and out anyway

which option are you using in Nero to burn?

are you using DVD Video and then dropping the files into the VIDEO_TS folder?
did you check the files are in the folder after putting them there if you did?

check out my old Nero DVD-Video guide

    Page 2
    Page 3

is your Nero roughly like this pic after you add the files?

If it isn't then load the VIDEO_TS.IFO into DVDShrink, does it show the DVD with all its menus and titles?

p.s. the quote on Nero's website is more of a disclaimer for corrupt struture DVD's as people sometimes have playback issues when using Nero yet not with other burning software

  3. Thanks for that MackemX. I was not using the DVD option, simply dragging the AUIDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders.

I will give this a try.

It is not burning any files, you are right. I waited like 10 mintues for it start, nothing happened.

I think the other problem may be because I have ripped the original movie by keeping the menu and leaving out some of the extras on it. Has it lost compliance? It appears Nero does not like it.

The actually movie is fine, becuase I know it worked. I was doing another backup I had made eariler (It was scratched). It plays fine on Power DVD.

I read it somewhere about a few monts ago that you should run through Ifoedit, is that going to help?

    Many thanks.
