  1. Hi guy's

Well its been a long time since i converted avi to dvdr, and a few days ago i got back into it! anyway im using Tmpgenc Express, Tmpgenc DVD author, and finally copy to dvd.

I dont really mess with the options on either program only setting the video to 4:3!

So my problem? well i might just be being fussy about it but i never remembered this happening b4 on my old dvd player, to explain hopefully

When the camera pans any dirrection (More noticable on a fast pan) the smoothness seems to disapear, Its jittery or missing frames or erm im not sure hopefully you get what i mean.
Im in the process now of converting and avi, but this time ive opted for a CBR to see if that changes anything

Anyway thanks for the help and looking

My dvd player is a Sony DAV SC5 if that is any help

    cheers

  2. When I encode some MPEG's at a lower bitrate --- 2500, 3000, etc I will noticed some pixelation / jaggies / artifacts during fast motion sections of the video... I have just accepted that. What were you settings?

  3. Not sure what Bitrate ive been using like i said i kept Tmpgenc express at default VBR i think 0 to 8000 isnt it?

Im not really experiencing pixelation, artifacts perhaps i should explain better?

Say you have a picture of a charactor standing central of the film, now if the camera was to pan left/right/up/down instead of seeing the charactor more smoothly away from the centre view point, it kind of jumps there which TBH isnt really bad but just annoying! it seems to the eye that every other frame is missing but i dowt thats the problem as playback of the converted Mpeg file via Media player is fine?

Try c it this way each dot is a frame

    Full smooth motion

    My dvd playback motion choppy/jittery???
    .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .

    if that little dia helps
