  1. I'm trying to backup a DVD to SVCD with permanent subtitles using Canopus ProCoder 2 as the only encoder, but can't figure out how to do it. I tried using SubRip with WinSubMux, but there was something about WinSubMux that wouldn't Multiplex the files correctly and just produce a duplicate of the original MPG...even though I followed a "guide" I had very closely.

I only want ProCoder to do the encoding, so does anybody know of a way to do it?

Just use Gordian Knot, it has what you need built in, and requires clicking ONE button.

Try dvd2svcd,it lets you use procoder as it encoding engine and does subtitles hard encoded and switchable.

I have never used GK, but from brief description, it sounds like Gordian Knot only used for making AVI files.
