  1. This should be an easy one.

I just downloaded an cue/bin file (CD image file) for a KVCD. I just want to get the movie out of it.

ISOBuster and VCDGear have no problem extracting a file from it.

The file will not play however, AVI Codec and Gspot can see it, but gpot cannot render it. Tmpg Enc either doesn't recognize the file or stalls during the opening, depending on if ISOBuster or VCDGear extracted the file.

    Any Ideas

Try demultiplexing it with TMPEG's Mpeg Tools option.

  3. thanks,

I tried it and got the audio out, but not the video.

What I learned is that KVCD uses a mutated form of mpeg2 that removes most of the keyframes from the video portion. ( a loose interpretation)

To convert back a tool would need to recreate thoose keyframes. This would require a special tool or codec and so far I haven' seen one mentioned anywhere. not in the forums or www.kvcd.net

At this point I'm giving up.
