Strange issues with the DMR-E50 recorder

So, I really like this recorder. Can't complain too much, but I'm seeing two issues (bugs?) with it:

--Upon finalizing a DVD-R, the unit is supposed to divide the disc into 5 minute chapters. That happens about 50% of the time for me. 40% of the time I get 1 1/2 minute chapters. 10% of the time I get 3 minute chapters. I've been using flexible recording and I'm basically dubbing old VHS tapes onto the DVD. I have no idea what could be causing the weird chapter stops.

--Sometimes the last two minutes or so of my recording gets split off into a second "program" on the disc. With my VHS dubbing I'm basically just trying to create one two-hour program on the disc, but sometimes I end up with one 1 hr 58 min program and a second 2 min program.

Any thoughts?

I have the same problem, and found that many others have also experienced the same thing. So it might be a bug in the E50's software that creates chapter stops. As for the second part of your question I haven't experienced that at all. 8)
