lost everything-need help please

just formatted hd
trying to build back to where it was
got rage 128pro with video in
before,was able to record video tape to mpg
then use tmpg to split ,then burn into vcd
got the vcd reg for my card,works fine
heres the problem
used smartripper to rip dvd,worked fine
then, dvd2avi,works i guess
then ,tmpg to mpg-it doesnt support the format of dvd2avi,-d2v on the video
before format it worked fine
what am i missing,got tmpg aspi also
followed the steps in dvd2vcd

Get the Kristal Studios codec pack.. you most likely miss a codec. That's what did the trick fo me..
