  1. ive tried everything i can think of, divx, 3ivx, vlc and mplayer

    none of these can read the audio anyone know of any other mac codecs or players that i could try?

    what format is the audio?
    open in quicktime player, press "command-I" (the apple key)
    from the resulting box, post the information listed after 'format:'
    then we can know what format the audio is.

    Also in the meantime,
    try using Divx Doctor II and doctoring the file to movie
    and see what happens...

    Using MPlayer, are you able to see what codec the file is, or does it not open the file at all?

  7. sounds like you might have avi's that use the god-aweful i263 codec which was bever released for the mac though i did find a rough i263 extension that worked for some clips......you should also be able to play it under virtual PC with the proper codec installed...
