Why would you want one? You do know if you want to record something copyrighted with a recorder that the source player has to be macro free, not the recorder? -
Called "Macrovision" analog copy protection. It is a piece of fake signal noise. However, bad tapes can have similar errors. This means MV "protection" can block recording your own homemade tapes that were not recorded perfectly (who's are?). MV protection is therefore faulty in theory and simply a pain in the ass to many legitimate consumers.
Yes, there are two recorders right now.
LiteOn 5001 using firmware 1141 with secret menu, or hacked firmware 1163
LiteOn 5005 using hacked firmware

So, disable the Macrovison should be done in the source, DVD player but rather the DVD recorder, right?
