I will soon start transferring some movies from VHS to DVD-R (the burner will probably be the Philips 3575). I currently have a Sony SLV-D380P VCR/DVD Combo Player and tried connecting it with RCA cables to another Sony VCR (SLV-R1000, for test purposes only), via the Sima CT-2. There was no picture at all (I tried tapping the Sima's input button and the cables were routed correctly).
I really just need a reliable VCR as I already own an Apex standalone DVD player which the Sima works fine with. Are there any combo players that are more "friendly" towards the CT-2 than the Sony? I found a Memorex MVD4541 / 43 at Target for $70 and I am sure that there may be other brands that are more compatible with the Sima. I may just have to buy a good used standalone VCR.
Btw, I know that with the Sima I will only get 2-channel audio and that is perfectly fine with me because none of the source videos have anything better. Most of the videos are older TV mystery series and there are some prerecorded movies as well.
Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thank you!![]()
