I have a DVD of a drama in Japanese. There isn't any english subs to them but I have translated it and made an SSA file with all the subs to it. I was wondering if it would be possible to add the subs to the DVD. I basically ripped the video with tmpgenc dvd author and I then added it to the source again but I don't know if tmpgenc dvd author will allow me to add a sub file like an SSA file to it and I can choose to turn off/on the subs. Any ideas anyone?

If you can get the DVD VOBs into an DVD MPEG-2 file, there is a guide that tells you to demux it to an mm2v and an mp2 file. Change the mp2 file extension to mpa. Load both files into IfoEdit DVD Author function. Convert the SSA file into an SUP file and load it into IfoEdit as well.

When it authors them into DVD files, you know what todo then.
    Hello.

no acctual, I had a movie I had added english subs too using dvd2svcd
option for adding external subs, worked fine, only problem is that it have to reencode the whole thing, but nevermind that.

Anyways, loading it into Tmpegenc DVD auther and making a dvd with that REMOVED the damn subtitles. So i guess, tmpegenc dvd auther don't see this subtitle stream and there is no option to add it in the program.

sorry, ive been waiting for someone to make a handy tool that can do this as an automated task, but no-one seem to be interested in developing it and I know jack about programming :P
