    i've been readin up on firmware little bit thru the site and all but im a little confused. im using a nec -nd1000a dvd+rw drive and flashed with 1.01 but now the dvd plays but i can't burn cdr or dvdr properly it would go to about 50% complete and then terminate burn or i would burn on a lower speed where it would finish succesful but the disc would be trash , i did a simulate test and that works perfectly to 100% succesful but just doesn't on actual, can firmware or say bad flashing be a cause of this or could the burner be shot

    If it was fine until you upgraded your firmware, I'm pretty sure that's most likely the problem.

    Can you downgrade it?

    I would say re-install the firmware without a disc in drive and see if that fixes it.
