    hi,

i'm just going to make my first dvd.

on my dvd i would like a simple menu, but can't seem to get what i want.

please could someone help me out?

what i'm after is this -

i have a background image and all i want on top of the image are text boxes that you can click on to play a certain film clip, much like a orginal dvd with play movie or trailer, where you highlight movie or trailer to play them.

at the moment all i can get is text boxes with a thumbnail picture of the film clip i want.

is there a simple authoring program that will make the menus that i wish?

    Many Thanks

    Adam

What authoring program are you using?

I like DVD Workshop and DVDLab.

It sounds to me like you are using Ulead DVD Movie Factory. THis has a huge limitation of thumbnail pics.

I have found DVD lab to absolutly the best program around. The small asking price for such a powerful program is amazing. It is not a simple learn but there are plenty of guides to hold your hand through the process. I am still learning and attempting to get exactly what I want out of this program so there is plenty of room for your creativity to grow.

I would try making the DVD without a menu first. Then, once you've got it to work fine, go to menus. Also, if your burner supporst RW format or better, if your DVD player supports minidvd author it then burn to CD-RW will save on DVD. DVD-Lab is okay, so is DVDMovieFactory & DVDAuthorGUI, especially the last one since it does menus and is FREE. Hope this helps.

    Have fun stormin' the castle!
