Hi all,

Just upgraded my ATI AIW 128 pro to a Leadtek TV2000 Expert card. I noticed that captures from the new card using HuffYUV 2.1.1 were hardly compressed (comp ratio of 1.4:1 to 1.7:1) whereas my old ATI card routinely would compress with a ratio of 3.3:1 (or thereabouts). Played around a bit and found that when capturing with the S-Video input from my LD player that the picture was nice, crisp and detailed but gave poor compression. When the same source is captured via the composite input, the image is blurred considerably (comparable to the ATI's S-video input) but the compression ratio is greater than 3:1 again. It this something screwy in the Leadtek drivers? Huffyuv?? Drivers are the latest off of Leadtek's site. Any thoughts????

Just to have a bit more "fun", I set VirtualVCR to capture in RGB mode and told the Huffyuv codec to convert to YUV2... the results came back with a compression ratio of greater than 4:1... is this a viable solution?

Thanks

Ted
