Not sure what is wrong but the DVD I created from my DVs plays perfectly on my deck but not on friends' deck. They get a headache from wavy lines. Hope someone can help me. Thank you.

Software:
Adobe Premiere Pro - capture stills & motion, edit, render
Adobe Photoshop 7.0 - edit stills
TMPGenc Plus 2.5 - encoding, splitting mpeg
VCDEasy 1.1.5 - stills to mpeg, interactive menu, SVCD cue/bin
MOTV 2.10
Nero 5.5.8.2 - burn image -
We'll need more details (what's your authoring program, your deck, his deck, etc.), but several things I noticed:
1. You mentioned in your sig that you use VCDEasy - I didn't see a DVD authoring program on your list. If this is in fact the case and you're not making a DVD, then that could be it. VCD's are definitely not universal when it comes to DVD players; even less so than home authored DVD's.
2. If it is in fact a DVD and you're using a bonafide DVD authoring program, then it could be the authoring program. I had an authored DVD created in DVDLab 1.31 (latest) not work on my Panasonic, but works fine on my Sony (everything else was the same, same computer, same burning software, same media, same burner, etc.)... specifically it had to do with audio on a chapter selection menu. BUT when I used any of the DVDLab Pro beta in exactly the same manner, the authored DVD worked fine on both! It's not a fluke - I can repeat this at will. So basically, get your hands on another authoring program and give it a try to see what happens.
3. The DVD's your burner created may just not be compatible with your friend's deck. To test, take your image and burn on another computer & burner.
4. Your DVD media may not be compatible with your friend's deck. To test, try some other brands. Get a sample pack from any of the numerous media vendors.
5. Your friend's deck may be too old to support DVD-R or DVD+R. He'll just have to get a new one.
There are probably a few other reasons, but without specific details and the steps that you followed, I think most of us will not be able to offer too much insight, but I hope this helps anyway.Phuoc

Hello Phuocle and all
Thank you for replying and also for requesting for more information.
Here is the process:
1. DV cam NTSC playback
2. Capture via Adobe Premiere via Firewire
3. Edit using Adobe Premiere into small avi clips
4. Use MOTV Ver2.1 -- import the avi clips, import photo jpgs
5. Use MOTV --- encodes using TMPGenc, generate video image
6. Use MOTV --- burn into DVD using 'Nero Drivers
I playback the DVD on my Pioneer SA633A which is progressive and it is perfect. But when I playback the DVD on my friend's Sony (non-progressive) and another friend's LG (progressive), the sections that have moving images is shaking/jerky but the sections that have photo jpgs are fine.
Hope someone can help me.
