Need to modify settings within CCE when using DVD Rebuilder?

Do we need to modify any settings in CCE (any version) when using DVD REbuilder?

This maybe a stupid question.

So far I have used DVD RB 0.52, 0.53, and 0.53a to backup some of my collection of DVD titles and so far I have been successful in backing up 4 titles with 0.52 just by following the installation instructions (installed AVISynth254, CCE, etc) and changed only the settings within DVD RB.

However, when I upgraded to DVDRB 0.53 and 0.53a I have two titles which I was able to Encode and Rebuild but I have problems with the Subtitles not showing up in the main movie on both of them?

Are there any optimum settings that we need to set within CCE to avoid this problem?

BTW. I tried DVDRB 0.52 on one of the DVD's with the Subtitle problem and no go. I am thinking that it is the particular DVD(s) that DVD RB has a problem.

Are you sure the settings for subtitles is set correctly? Under options, setup uncheck the subtitles you want, for instance if english subtitles is what you want then make sure you have that english box UNCHECKED. If you leave it with the CHECK mark the english subtitles will not appear.

CCE has nothing to do with keeping or not keeping subtitles. I haven't used any of the latest versions of DVD REBUILDER. I still use version 51 because in my own opinion if it's not broke why upgrade to the latest version.

Yep! They're all set and unchecked last time I looked?!

Nevertheless. Are there any optimum settings that we need to do to CCE to improve Encoding with DVD RB? (I know the subtitles are set within DVD RB).

Any suggestions?

how many passes are you using with CCE? I use 2 passes, VBR_bias 10, & Quality_Prec 24. Check out dooms9 forum on DVD REBUILDER for info. there are a few in this forum that have tweaked CCE but I can't remember what number of passes and settings they used. you can do a search in here.

From my understanding, RB sets the CCE settings automatically, so tweaking them in CCE doesn't apply. Your subtitle issue could be the result of preprocessing, perhaps...
