Xvid movie problem

I have a Xvid movie which i can hear but the picture is filled with wierd changing squares in the top of the screen and the rest i just black..
I tried using zoomplayer and windows media player and they didnt work but when i start virtualdubmod i can see the movie perfectly except its not a player. So as far as i know the movie is ok but i just cant play it with an ordinary media player..
WHY????

Ps. All other Xvid and Divx movies works just fine

Try removing all your MPEG 4 codecs (XVID, DIVX, 3IVX, etc) and install just the latest XVID 1.0.1.

just install teh XVID 1.0.1 and DIVX 5.2
thats all you need and for xvid,when playing or converting to mpeg or something,then just go into the divx codec configuration tool and uncheck " Generic MP4 support."
