Hi, I trying to create Xvid from Vegas but I have problem with the sound.
I can pick Xvid in video but when I going to pick MP3 in Audio it have nothing that I can pick

I did then find information that I have to use Lame ACM to make MP3

Now I can pick MP3 in audio but when I going to start rendering it say something is wrong with the codec.

Right now I have to first create a very very big AVI that have no compression and after that open VirtualDub to create Xvid.

But I like to make it a little easy so I can create Xvid from Vegas instant.

What do I have to install to make it work?
I have install Lame ACM and Xvid codec.

  2. Make sure the audio properties that Vegas is sending match the selected properties in Lame ACM. Ie, 48 Hz, 16 bit, stereo, or whatever.

  4. I don't use Vegas but it looks like everything is set up correctly. Hopefully someone who knows Vegas will chime in. It will help if you say which version of Windows you are running, and whether it's 32 bit or 64 bit.

  6. there is a 64-bit version of lame acm , and a 32-bit version of lame acm

here is link for 64-bit version
    https://www.videohelp.com/download/lame3.98.4-64.zip

if you could figure it out and get it working, it's faster than frameserving with debugmode (which adds additional overhead, slower and takes more memory)

yes it is better then first take time to create a big AVI and then take time to create a xvid

  12. I just tried that 64 bit Lame ACM with 64 bit Windows 7. 64 bit VirtualDub was able to use it, no problems.

yes same here, if you look at the link I post about use frameserving, then you can see that they use VirtualDub and Lame ACM to create Xvid with MP3 sound.

It is when I going to use Vegas it is a problem.

That I read in on that tutorial it say "because Vegas will not allow a high enough MP3 bitrate in a directly-rendered DivX file"
I don't know if that is true or not.
