I was just wondering which Pioneer DVD Player is worth buying for the value.
Pioneer DV-333 - $125
Pioneer DV-343 - $150
Pioneer DV-434 - $149
Pioneer DV-444 - $210
Biggest difference is DV-444 plays MP3s while the others don't. But the price is significant much more.
Which is the best one for the price?

Given those prices, I'd recommend the DV-434 (I have one myself). The 343 and 434 are virtually identical except that the 434 is a Progressive Scan player. Some reviews give the 434 poor marks for "progressive playback". I didn't buy it for PS playback capability so that didn't matter to me. It is the best consumer grade player for DVD, VCD, SVCD, SxVCD, etc. under $200.

if you go for dv 444, do you have patience listening to those tons of music on one cd and if you take them with you, you would need an mp3 player. now that's another cost to you. i have dv333 and i am very satisfied and happy with it. it plays even the cheapest cdrs out there. trust me, i did try them.with progressive scan, you should have a tv that has it too. do you intend to buy a ps tv? who knows and its not a bad idea to get dv434 for a few bucks more if it plays everything.

What is a progressive scan?
Should I spend the extra money to get a player that has it?
