    Welcome, oh traveler from Mars and beyond.

    DVD players that will play back (some) avi files have been around now for several years. They are, for the most part, restricted to Divx and Xvid encoded avi files with mp3 audio, and work within fairly narrow encoding parameters.

    If you search the DVD Players list to your left and tick the box in the Format section that says Divx/Xvid you will find a lot of them.
