I have a old but in excellent shape Sony Handycam-Tape-"Digital 8" DCR-TRV 310-NTSC movie camera. I have alot of old video's I'd taken over the years.

When I purchase this camera (12 years ago) it didn't come with any i-link type cables...so I brought "Dazzle 80" w/USB connector for video cameras couple of months ago so I can re-capture these old tapes and transfer them to my computer.

"Pinnacle Studio 8"(came with Dazzle 80) for the most part it did a good job of capturing the old video's. It save it as a "avi" file. No problem there.

The video looks good using MS Media Ver. 9....not fuzzy looking or anything like that.

The only problem I have...there is some noticable lag during playback...not bad mind you...it lags just a little and not the smooth continuing motion I'm seeking.

The file was captured at 29.97 fps.-with Pinnacle Studio 8.

The question I have is there any programs out there that can help smooth the video out for me before I use Sony's Vegas 5 (just purchase),and have some fun with it. Burn it to a DVD..that kind of thing.

I didn't find anything on this subject in previous other posts in this forum.

I don't believe I saw anything in Vegas 5 itself that will help me with the lag issue.

    I have VirtualDub Ver 1.5.10

My system is two years old

    Pentium 4 - 2.53-533
    1-meg of memory
    80 meg 7200rpm harddrive
    ATI 9700 Pro-128 meg

Any ideas, help, or directions would be greatly appreciate.

    Thank You and Best Regards

    Michael

  2. Try lowering the bitrate on your capture. At least as a test. The Dazzle 80 is capable of producing video that plays back smoothly.

Also turn off anything that might be running at the same time. (Durring Capture)
