Reauthor my DVDs, Help!

Hi!

I have several DVDs that I wish to reauthor!
(recorded on set top recorders etc...)
I wish to put in chapters, menys, some editing also perhaps.

What formats/conversions do i need to go through before I can reauthour?
I know theres a lot of good software out there but its all a jungle to me since I don't know the most common formats i need to convert to.
I know DVD Decrypter is a good start but then...?

tmpgenc dvd author is easiest for fast and simple reauthoring and supports also basic editing. dvd-lab if you want advanced menus.
