    Hello everybody:
When I installed Premiere, a right click on a track would give me an option of unlinking audio and video tracks, among many others. But after I unlinked it for a particular project, I cannot link it back again, there is no such option in the right-click menu. You would expect it toggles between link-unlink, but it is not the case.
I would like to link them back together again to save time on deleting the track sections. Any advice on how to do it would be greatly appreciated
And also, is it possible to have the "Ripple Delete" performed automatically after I delete a section of a track?
At present I have to do five operations - razor at edit line (x2), delete video, delete audio and then ripple delete. Cutting the last two would speed up things.
    thx: walter

  2. what version of premiere? Premire Pro 7 seems to let me link the A/V back together after cutting (from the right-click menu)

    In ver 6.5, there's a bottom left link/unlink button...

Tip: If you wanna unlink, just hold the alt button, and left click on the desired clip..

Sorry, I forgot to mention it is an ancient version 6.0.
I have to upgrade one day, hopefully after I repay the student loan.
    Thx: walter

You could avoid all of that by going into your source, or monitor view in the first place..
Pick an "in" point, pick an "out" point, and then there's a little button to the lower right, that allow you to "extract" the area, thus causing your desired ripple delete..

hopefully after I repay the student loan.

    Good luck!!!
