  1. Hi, I tried to find a solution to this but nothing I've tried has really helped so far. I'm trying to author a dvd from an mpg that is not dvd compliant as far as resolution goes.

I load the mpg into dvd author and make all the vobs and whatnot and the menus and all look fine when I'm making them. I save the template or whatever and then I close tmpgenc and use dvd patcher to change the first header resolution so that tmpgenc dvd author will go through with making the vob files.

However, when all that is done the right i guess 1/4 to 1/3 of all the chapter thumbnails are green or black, because the resolution is changed to what it's not expecting. How can I fix this? The actual movie plays fine and in the right resolution, but the thumbnails are driving me completely crazy.

You can't. You should be happy you're able to author and play a non standard DVD at all!
(I'm sure it's possible, but not with TDA and its automatic chapter thumbs.)

  3. weird, you'd think you could just resize the thumbnail or something. maybe that should be a new feature of tda

To accept out of specs and/or corrupt source files? I doubt it...

  5. why not? Should have this option [] I know what I'm doing.

And what about people like me who have dvd players that will play almost any format. Sure I could just burn the files but it's cool to have menus. Sure I could copy the mpg and convert it to dvd standard and then use that for all the animated thumbnails but that's just a pain in the ass
