Before I started using VS8 Trial, I captured a bunch of wedding videos with my Leadtek 2000XP card at 720X480, using Huffy AVI encoder. I load my clips into VS8, and I get letterbox-type bars on top and bottom (which weren't there in the original). And I see a line or two of distorted video along the bottom of the picture.
Thinking it might just be a preview problem, I render it out to an mpg file (DVD NTSC). The bars are still there...and I think the video looks a little stretched (my wife hates looking fatter than normal.) What's going on, here?
I've heard that despite specifying 720X480, it is actually capturing at 704X480. But VS8 still sees it as 720X480. Could that be the problem? I just don't know how to fix it. Any suggestions how to get the aspect ratio back to normal?![]()
