  1. Ok, I recently downloaded 4 .vob files.
How do I burn them onto a dvdr?
I know I can use nero or many other programs, but don't I need
    an .ifo or .bup file?
How would I go about making an ifo or bup file?
Or can I burn w/out those files?

  2. You'll need to author them in order to have a compliant DVD-Video. VOBEdit (freeware) can demultiplex the VOB's into their elementary .m2v video and audio files. The demuxed video and audio can be edited (simple I frame cutting and joining) with Cuttermaran or MPEG2Schnitt (both free), then be authored with IFOEdit (also free) into a basic DVD file set. These new .BUP, .IFO and .VOB files can then be burned to DVD disc with Nero Express.

You can also do simple I frame editing, create a menu and author the VOB's just as they with TMPGEnc DVD Author (trialware), a very simple and easy to use application. If you need to perform frame accurate editing of the VOB's, load them into Womble's MPEG Video Wizard or MPEG-VCR just as they are. After editing, save to a new .mpg file and author in TMPGEnc DVD Author or demux the .mpg and use IFOEdit.

There are numerous ways to do this with other freeware and software options, too. Check the Guides link for more in-depth information:
