  1. Silly question.

I need to make a movie look like a really bad Video Tape. Tried aged film filter in Premiere but that made it look like old Cine.

    TIA,
    Nosmo

  2. Output it to video tape and copy it over and over again, pull the tape out of the cassette and wrinkle it here and there, then feed it back into the computer.

    That's really good advice.

You can also deinterlace it, and then mess with hue and contrast filters. Also, add noise with a noise addition filter (Premiere should have one).

You can do anything you want in Premiere.

Take your camcorder and film the screen, just like all those crappy pirate jobs. Works for them.

  10. There use to be a filter in Premiere that would make it look like an old movie with lines grans.

Just tried adding about 48% noize along with Verticle roll to a clip! Pretty bad! Then set compression to about 20%. Should be very intersting and just about unwatchable! Add in wavering and dieing audio and should be about right. Even VHS 6 hours mode, played non stop for a year and after being demag would look better.

  11. Windows Movie Maker 2 has an old film grain filter, might want to check that out.

  16. Thanks guys

Playing with the noise filters seems to be quite effective together with the Hue and Saturation etc.

@ NightWing...How could I add some vertical roll? I think the filter you mention is the one I have - Aged film.

  18. Hi Nosmo King

Which version of Premiere do you have. In 6. Look in video and under transform. If you want to torture the view add both Vert and Horz Hold! Looks like the sync is totaly gone! Add audio out of sync, wrong, missing too soft or loud and its horror city

Or you could do the hair in the fram bit that Tex Arvin did in one of the MGM cartoons. Drove the old style projectionist mad trying to find the hair that was not there!

It tuff to introduce a problem than take it out!

Here is a snap shot of the screen with the setting and a sample of the output.
