  1. Hello and thanks in advance for any help,
i have a pioneer 5100 and have just transfered all my old vhs to dvd, i would now like to edit them on the pc through my dvd drive, however my dvd editing software says that the file type is not supported, file type is "VOB" software is "sonic mydvd" now either the software is not that good or the file type is unusual?? sorry if this seems a bit of an obvious one but i am very much a novice at this, if the software is deemed as no good then perhaps someone could recommend some?? or do i have to record in a different format ?? al these possibilities, thanks again, by the way i just want to ad some simple titles and add in some chapters etc.

The easiest way to go is by using vobedit to extract the Mpeg-2 stream from your .vob file. You will then have a .mpg file which you can load in MyDVD.[/quote]
