I have just got hold of a compressed movie file, when I extract the files I get a 4.3GB .img file. What programs would I need to turn the .img file into something that can be burned onto a DVD?

Burn it with DVD Decryptor or any other burning program that supports image. There are guides on this site for exactly this.

Thanks. I tried searching for it but everytime I did the results were for [img]https://www.videohelp.com/forum/images/guides/p970968/ and not .img.

Try mounting you image with Daemon-tools and then burn your dvd from your virtually mounted drive.
