  1. Hi all
It took me couples of week but I finally able to burn my first avi files into playable DVD disk..
I want to thanks all the people on this forum for helping me to accomplish this.
now is my turn to help those that want to do it in one quick easy way.
The software that you will need is
    TMPGenc 3.0 Express
    TMPGenc DVD Author
DVD shrink (if you want to shrink files to fit a 4.7GB disk)
    Nero Burner 6.0
Most of these software are trail version... see if it work for you before buying it.
First open all the avi files that you want to burn and encode it by using the TMPGenc 3.0 Express (this is a latest version from the TMPGenc plus-it better cause it does not cause your computer to freeze up or slow down) When it finish encode it you then need to author it, the TMPGenc DVD author is really good. It is easy to use and you can cut or edit were you want each section to play. Once you cut and edit creates the output. Once you finish the output, you can burn it or if the files to large, shrink it.
If the output is too large for your DVD 4.7GB disk, you need to shrink it.
DVD shrink is free software, and it will help you automatically shrink your files or you can cut or edit what files you do not want.
After all this, the burning process is easy. Nero Express 6.0 is the best DVD burning progam...
The four software above that I mention is very much needed if you want to burn your download avi files into playable DVD player... You will need all these software to help you burn your avi.
Each of this software have good help guide.. just take time to read it and you will burn some good DVD..
    Good luck
and thanks again to everyone that help me...
    -mai

  2. Good on you! Don't forget to include in your video toolkit VirtualDub in all its various forms, it's the "Swiss Army Knife" of AVI tools. Believe me, you'll need it eventually.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!
