  1. I have used Nero Recode 2 to back up a DVD to a DVDR. The back up copy was fine for the first 30 or 40 mins. After that the DVDR is skipping as if it has Scratches. But the DVDR is brand new with no scaratches. At one point it was so annoying that I couldn't watch the movie any more.

If there anything I am doing wrong during copying like changing the settings?

(Original in the DVD-ROM to blank DVD-R media DVD-RW drive) using Nero Recode2 . no other software. any help will be greatly appreciated.

or any other copy software recommnded?

  2. What media do you use? And does the backup on the HD play fine in software dvd player? If the answer to the last question is yes, it probably is the media, or you have a crappy burner (not meant to be offensive, my last burner had problems writing the last 20% no matter what media I used, I had to RMA the piece of crap). But most we probably say it is cheap media.
    Blah, blah, blah

Sorry for the confusion. I meant copy not back up. So playing from the HD is not an option at all.

The burner is a PIONEER DVD-RW

The media i use is PLATINUM -R DVD 4.7 GB (1-4X).

    thx......

  5. Never tried that before, I always save the shrunk output to the HD to preview first, then I burn to a DVDr. This is assuming when you select your burner as the output. I hope I'm understanding you correctly. If you could use a program like DVD Identifier or DVDinfopro, and tell us the media id that would help greatly too.
But my guess is that it may be the media, have you tried other media before that worked fine? And did this media work fine for you before? Have you tried any more discs since?
    Blah, blah, blah
