  1. i cant strip this audio from a avi with vdub
    0x0055(MP3) ID'd as MPEG-1 Layer 1
    gspot says i have 4 codecs available,,,but vdub says dont have the compressor for it

    Are you trying to strip the mp3 or do you want to decompress it to wav? If it's the latter, use Goldwave instead. I had the same problem as you a while back and for the life of me I can't remember how I managed to fix it. All you can do is work around it for now.

  3. i'll give goldwave a shot,,when i send the file with the above listed audio tmpge or msp dont show it having audio,,vdub wouldnt yank it and msp put it to wave but when i played sound file back alone there was no sound,,which i dont get if it plays with sound in media players i should have the codec for it

    I suspect the problem lies somewhere in the registry. Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure it was Norton Windoctor that fixed the problem for me.

  6. i have the codec already,,i guess alot of avi/xvids just have corrupt audios or something,,thing is i can re-encode with dr divx with no problem,,so if that picks up the audio then the other progs should to i would think
