I am looking for advice on the following issue:
I am trying to set up the Showview channels on my Pioneer 3100S, but I have no idea what channels should be assigned to each corresponding guide number. I tried setting them up in accordance with my TV channels, but the timings are all wrong. As far as I know, the programme id numbers do not differ from country to country, since this is just an instruction to the recorder, telling it when to start and stop.
I am connected to a communal cable system, which means that I have no control over the receiver etc. , I just plug in the aerial cable to the jack on the rear of the recorder...perfect picture...perfect sound...but no Showview capabilities.
I would be grateful if any one could offer any solutions to this?

I know waht you mean I am trying to set up showview in the UK on my 3100S all I can see so far is the the videoplus numbers in the radio times do not work with the showview system they are different systems but I dont know weather they can be made to work by setting the guide channels correctly.
If I find out how I will post the answer here good or bad!!! -
Well I found out if your in the UK and your recorder is showView
Hard luck It will never work with VideoPlus codes they are completely different.
Oh well back to using the easy timer or standard timer.
I even tried the upgrade CD for the firmware for the 3100S sent to me from Pioneer.
