check out the green section on the left. there are plenty of guides for you. basically what you are going to do is convert all the files to dvd compliant mpeg2 files. then you use an authoring program to make the dvd files, and then use a burning prog to burn

being honest, if you can afford to buy a DVD player that will handle DivX and xVid then I'd do that, and simply burn the AVI's as data, and let the DVD player handle themfor you

That way you can get about 5-6 movies per DVD

If you want to do it the hard way, then you need an encoder that can convert the AVI to MPEG1/2, and create the necessary files

Then you get the problems off audio synch going off track du eto crap recording of the audotrack, its a nightmare, you could devote an entire website just to video conversion

Most people use CCE or MCE, or if you have p,enty of time, TMPGenc Plus

Like previosuly mentioned, actually read the guides, the vast majority are very , very good and tell you exactly what problems you WILL encounter

well, i followed that tutorial posted above to the letter, but when tmpg gets to the part where it says how big its going to be its like 275% bigger than a dvd, my avi is in in low res dvd ntsc, so i tried it that way, and i can make it 50% of a dvd, hopefully when im done with this the A/V sync will be fixed.

    i agree
just get a dvd player which handles xvid and divx
look in the dvd player list they are pretty cheap should be able to get one for £60-£100
it will be far easier than doing the conversions

it would appear your pretty new to this
and unless you have a lot of free time and patience then you wont get many results when you fiddle with videos

if you insist on watching films away from the pc then either link a tv out from your graphics card to the tv or get an xvid and divx compatible player[/quote]

well i vacation startedand i have plenty of time to do anything, so i think i'll learn how to edit/sync avis , by the way i tried to follow this article https://www.videohelp.com/forum/userguides/140540.php, but it didnt work it was still out of sync, i cant figure out what to do. I used virtual dub to extractthe audio in full processing mode, and then i used goldwave to up the hz rate, then i used ulead movie factory to make the test dvd, joining the m2v and the wav file, i dindt complete the task i used the preview video player in ulead to see if it was out of synch and it was. i cant figure out how to fix this.
