Prodiscs burning at 2x instead of 4x

Bought some 4x Prodiscs from Rima. When I burn using Nero or Copy2DVD, the max speed is only 2x, but I have a 4x Optorite burner.

I have burned plenty of Riteks and Philips and Memorex media at 4x with this burner.

DVDInfo reads the media as being 4x....

What could be the problem here?

I have had the same problem with a different burner and different media, but the reason might be the same.

I have a SONY DRU500A and have been using TDK 4x media for a long time, recording them at 4x every time.

I was using Nero 5 (version 5.5.10.54) with success after several severe problems with earlier versions.

When I replaced Win2K with XP, I thought it would be a good opportunity to switch to Nero 6. And all my recordings were at 2X.

Switched back to Nero 5 (5.5.10.54) and all recordings are now at 4x.

So, the lesson is: It might be the s/w (version) you are using. Just might not agree with your burner.
