I got an error: "Chunk size extends outside of parent" when I open a multi-part AVI. What is this error? And how to solve it?

I'm using VirtualDub V.1.4.7, and the size of the segment is 1900 MB, but that capture seemed have caused this feature of VD to be failed... I got a 3.15 GB segment. -
that sounds abnormal. how many drives/partitions are you capturing to? is the priority of all drives set to 0? btw, virtualdub 1.4d & up will properly accept open dml segments larger than 2gb

After trying with other applications, I found that TMPGEnc can read both segments (The first one is normal and the second one is the abnormal one I've mentioned), but "normal" applications (e.g. MedioStudio 5.2 or Matrox's PC-VCR) cannot open either.
