  1. This is sorta complicated so I'll start from the beginning. Bought a dvd, when I got it I discovered it didn't have any english subs. So I want to add them in. I figured out how to add the subtitles in via:

the problem is doing this you have demux and basically dissamble the files losing the original menu, because you have to re-author it. I'm trying figure out 2 things:
1)How I can use my original menu, be it extracting it from the source and then re-using it in a author program (I've tried ulead dvd factory & TMPGENC dvd author, but they don't have a section where I can use my own custom buttons, backgrounds, etc)
2)how I can keep the extras intact?

I apprecaite any help thta can be given =)

  2. With Ifoedit you can extract de video, audio and subtitles files and substitute any subtitle that you want by your english subtitles, without modifying the menus. (Sorry for my english).

Plus, Ulead DVD Workshop, DVDLab, and a few other non-template (only) athoring programs will do what you want. What I've done before is to take screnshots of the menus that I wanted, then import tham as a background into the authoring program. Most of the still menus, you couldn't tell that they had been re-authored (except that some of them I made better ).
