Drop them all in TMPGEnc DVD Author. That should take care of it for you. There are other ways of course, but TDA makes the process pretty easy.

echo this. You can also create some pretty groovy but simple menus in next to no time.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Sorry to come in on this post. I tried that, but TDA warned about bad settings. Do I just ignore that? and will it play OK on a standalone player?

368x288 ? that isn't vcd or dvd compliant...you must reencode.

Thanks Baldrick, If I convert to standard VCD, will TDA accept it?
I thought it was knocking it back because it wasn't DVD.

Convert to DVD, 352x240 mpeg1 or mpeg2. Basicly same same as vcd, but you can choose bitrate and mpeg1(must be cbr and max 1.8mbit/s) or mpeg2(can be vbr and max 9.8mbit/s).

I'd use MPEG-2 if I have the option. I've seen some real compression disasters with MPEG-1 VCDs.

Yes, so would I, but I have some VCD's lying around that I want on DVD, and I don't want to convert them if they will go onto a DVD without any problems.

you only have to convert them outside the vcd spec, like 368x288 video. you can mix both mpeg1 and mpeg2 on a dvd also as long you make new tracks/titlesets for each.

  14. Hi,

Like Baldrick has said, as long as you put the video with different settings in different tracks, TMPGEnc DVD Author will take it. I have tried with clips with different resolution (i.e. 352x240, 352x480, 702x480, etc.) and different format (i.e. mpeg1, mpeg2), and just follow the rules to put each of them in different tracks, and TDA did take them all. Even if the audio is 44.1k, TMPGEnc DVD Author will convert to 48k. It does make life easy. Very nice tool.

    Cheers,
