  1. PLease help!!!
I have just purchased a liteon ldw 851s dvd writer and am using nero 6 to convert and join avi files to a dvd. My 1st attempt died after only 40bytes of data was wrote to the disc. I made an image file next which burnt but i cannot play on any of my stand alone dvd's. Only on my computer.
I have downloaded the upgraded firmware and util to change the booktype setting on my drive but have not tried it yet. Would like some help off you lovely lot 1st
This is my 1st dvd writer and at the moment i want to rip it out and throw it down the back garden(which currently has a 2 foot deep trench in it)
    PLease help

I gather you are using Nero to do the MPEG-2 conversion - probably not the best idea IMO. Load the AVI into TMPGEnc and use a DVD template. then author the file with something like TMPGEnc DVD Author. Then burn with Nero.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Now it's my turn to say: "RTFM!" AVI to DVD conversions has been covered in howtos and guides over and over again, many of those collected under HOW TO, left. Here's a lazylink that'll take you to the right section. I don't think you'll find many of them use Nero, and if they do, only to burn your data.

    Yep. And I did.

Now it changes twice a second, as opposed to 6 times a second. It was the constant rapid flashing that was irritating him. I PM'ed him with the new one and he thought it was a lot better.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Now that you mention it, yes, it's about 3 times less irritating...

I almost fell off the chair when I read that.
    If in doubt, Google it.
