I have been using TMPGenc PLUS, making SVCD. I shoot the video, capture, edit, convert to MPEG 2. I use AVI, and Wave sometimes when
making SVCD. I have asked before about using wave in TMPGenc PLUS and have gotten the respond that it is ok , it works, cool. I want to start using TMPGenc DVD Author.

    1) Can I use wave files with DVD Author or will I have to convert the wave to another format, before using them in DVD Author?

    2) Will I need the AC3 plug in for DVD Author and why would I need that? ( I don't know a whole lot about AC3. I gather the wave files would have to be converted to AC3 with another source) Thanks

You can use wave audio with TAD, but wave audio can take up a lot of space which can be used to improve or increase the bitrate used for the video. I like to use AC3 audio for this very reason.

No you do not need the ac3 plugin for TAD. I use ffmpeggui to convert wave audio to ac3. It's easy and free to use.
