  1. I have brought new SiL 680 Card.

When I have installed card on a machine.:
Celeron 466mhz CPU on Intel 810chippset
Mobo. Having Seagate 8GB HDD as primary Master on Card, Samsung 52x CDRW as second Master Drive. And Creative 52X Cd-Rom on Secondry Master of On Board Connectors.

"Windows Is Unable To Access The Registery. Please Restart" After restarting the PC the ATA Card Drivers and display drivers both get automatically uninstall. The same problem is coming on both Win98Se & Winme.

I have done fresh instalation of the OS is Booting from the HDD connected to Card.
If I don't install the card and uses onboard connecters on same installion no errors comes.

I have also downloaded the latest drivers from your website.
Please help me how to solve the problem.

In your early reply. With best regards

  2. If you put the ATA card in the slot next to your video card you probably have a conflict. Resources are routinely hard-wired between the AGP slot and the closest PCI slot. Use one or the other, but not both.

You shouldn't use the first PCI slot even if you want dual video cards. Move your ATA card to another slot and restart.

With Intel 810 chipset you might want to checkout "Intel Application Accelerator"

  3. My guess is you need to upgrade to XP. The 466 is a little outdated for XP but... Don't worry someone will disagree.

When I have installed Sil680 Card on P3 500 having 440ZX Mobo no
problem is coming. Card is working fine. Problem is only coming with above said configuration.

  5. Are you using the first PCI slot on the 810 chipset board?

Whatever is causing the conflict, you'll have to juggle some cards to different slots to correct.

  6. Sorry i wasn't paying close attention.

It is possible that the card just won't work with that particular chipset.

Did you check technical support at the website of the manufacturer?
