I'm new to dvd backup and I'm using dvd shrink ... when I rip a dvd the resulting files (VOB etc.) in the ts_video folder is saved as Powerdvd files.
It can only be played with powerdvd and when I burn it to disc it remains in the same form.
I have an LG GSA- 4040 burner, I burn with B's recorder gold 5.
Is there some other format that I have to convert the files too for it to work as a dvd movie?

ts_video? You should have two folders - VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS. The reason that they are showing as Power DVD files is because Windows is associating the files with Power DVD, so I don't think that is causing the non playback issue with your dvd player. What kind of discs are you using and is your player compatable with them? Try this - In DVD Shrink output as an ISO file and use DVD Decrypter to burn, preferably using a RW disc, good luck
